Curriculum at Les Powell School – A School Dedicated to Every Learner

At Les Powell School, we celebrate the unique abilities of each student in our K-12 special needs school. Our commitment to inclusivity and personalised learning ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.

For our younger students in Years K-6, we adhere to the K-6 curriculum while implementing tailored modifications and adaptations to meet individual learning needs. This includes creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences and utilising assistive technologies to support diverse learning styles. Our dedicated educators work closely with families and specialists to develop Personalised Learning and Support Plans (PLaSPs) that align with each student's strengths and goals.

As students transition into Years 7-12, we provide a comprehensive Life Skills curriculum that focuses on practical skills, independence, and community engagement. This curriculum is designed to prepare students for life beyond school, emphasising essential skills such as communication, self-regulation, and personal care. Our approach ensures that students build confidence and competence, equipping them for a fulfiling future.

At Les Powell School, we believe that education is a shared journey, and we are committed to fostering an environment where every student can achieve their personal best. Together, we create pathways for success, celebrating the diverse journeys of our students as they grow into empowered individuals.
