Personal development, health and physical education

Personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE) is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.

PDHPE provides students with opportunities to explore issues that are likely to impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others – now and in the future. Students also participate in challenging and enjoyable physical activity, improving their capacity to move with skill and confidence.

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) at Les Powell School

PDHPE focuses on your child's overall health and well-being. In the modified ES1 curriculum, we introduce basic concepts of health and personal care through fun activities and movement. For students in Years 7-12, the Life Skills syllabus emphasises important topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and building healthy relationships. Our goal is to empower your child to make positive choices about their health, develop self-advocacy skills, and foster resilience, ensuring they are prepared for a fulfilling and healthy life.

Watersports Program

At Les Powell School, we are fortunate to have a hydrotherapy pool on our grounds. Each class is allocated at least one hydrotherapy session per week.

This facility provides our students with many benefits including relaxation, increased independence of movement, improved water confidence and fitness.

We currently have the valuable services of swimming instructor, Tania.
